City Invites Propsals for City Auditing Services
The City is currently soliciting competitive proposals from qualified firms to provide city auditing services. Proposals will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on March 16, 2012. Click her for a copy of the Request for Proposal (RFP).
The City is re-soliciting bids for the installation of energy efficiency improvements to the City Hall HVAC system.The project has been divided into two separate components - installation of electric connections and installation of HVAC equipment. Pre-bid conferences are scheduled for February 14th (11 a.m. for the HVAC component and 3 p.m. for the electrical component); attendance at these meetings are not mandatory. Fire Zone Map
The state and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) have released a map identifying fire severity zones - very high, high and moderate - in the City of Laguna Woods. The City is considering action related to construction activities in these zones.
Trauma Intervention Program (TIP)
TIP is looking for caring people willing to be part of a team of citizen volunteers trained to provide emotional and practical support to the victims of traumatic events. Click here for a program flyer.
The City is in the process of reviewing the UAC application submitted by the Golden Rain Foundation. The contents of the plan and required planning documents are governed by state law and the City’s General Plan (land use element) and Municipal Code (zoning regulations). The City has deemed the UAC application to be incomplete at this point – some of the required components have not yet been submitted. The chart does not provide an evaluation about whether or not the components have deficiencies, just whether or not they have been included in the initial submittal.

Green Home Certification Program
The purpose of the Laguna Woods Green Homes program is to encourage and reward residents who incorporate sustainable practices in their homes, thereby improving the environmental health of the City. The City depends on the eyes and ears of its residents to assure that it rules and regulations are followed. Be a part of that process by reporting City Code violations to city hall. Medical Marijuana Dispensaries REGULATORY PERMIT APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
The City of Laguna Woods has adopted a regulatory process that will allow medical marijuana dispensaries (non-profits) to operate in certain areas of the city under certain conditions. Application packets are available at City Hall and on the website.
